I went to see "Earth" today - the DisneyNature film that is a type of "Planet Earth" by Discovery. All in All a good film. Lots of Beautiful Scenery - really beautiful, awe inspiring and breath taking.
The film travels the length of the globe - and all seasons of life.
This film is another examle and document of the most preciouse jewel we have as a human race - and the responsibility we have as well.
Global warming and its effects were mentioned in ways that were natural to the movie experience, and as a whole the lovely planet earth spoke very well for her self - her beauty, tenderness, extremes and harsness - all together, all at once.
What this film left me with is this -
What we do today may occur as a sacrifice - or inconvient, but if you look at it with this question in mind, "What is it I want to leave behind as a heritage for my family, my country, my world?" dead scorched earth? flooded coast lines, and forced relocations - or - Do I want to leave behind the beauty of this earth that I have come to love and enjoy? As a reality - something that can be touched and felt - not something you learn about remotely as in a book or movie.
I fully believe it is important to look around us, in our homes, our cars, are places of employment and recreation - What is the impact that I am making and what will my contribution to the future be? More dead trees? No Oil? Global oven? 50% or more of the plants and animlas gone? OR Do you want to leave behind as much of this natural beauty we have today as we can? To Leave it as a legacy that is empowering and encouraging one that represents in part if not in whole the beauty and majesty we have been able to experience in our own lives?
I believe it is important for each of us to do our part each day and ask your self - what would I want to leave for my grand children - or even thier grand children?

My First Blog and Entry
Ok, I did it! I just generated my first blog site and now as I write this am in the process of creating my first entry.
I bet you are wondering what this blog will be about, well so am I. I am thinking that at first it will be an assorted collection of what comes up each day - what did I learn, what intersets me, and what else I am thinking of taking on.
I would hope that you as a reader would comment on my blog - basically what do you think?
Who am I you might ask - especially since there is no picture and I won't have my profile completed by the time this is posted.
First note - do you have any idea how easy this was to set up? I signed in with my google account, made some clicks and selected a web page name and I was off and running! I am amazed -- and to think I have been putting this off for how long now? I am too embarased to say, in part because I am the "go to geek" for most if not all of my friends.
Let's just leave it at far far to long for now.
Just goes to show you how much we can let the little things get in our way.
Who am I?
Well, first of all I am a farm girl from Wisconsin - and yes, I can milk a cow by hand.
No kidding - have you ever done that? Successfully?
I have a varied range of experience and interests - as I am sure all of you do. For one, I love outdoors - nature, and I miss it - haven't been getting out much lately and need to correct that one for sure.
Favorite place out doors? Well My mom's back deck and Yosemite of course. Love that place.
I have been a resturaunture (I do hope I spelled that right) pizza delivery driver, crew / manager for McDonalds (long long ago in a far far away land), Obtained a degree in Electronics Engineering, supported the installed base of a major semiconductor equipment manufacture, worked in manufacturing for Harddisk Media as a Laser Engineer and most reciently at a solar company as their Laser Systems Eng and Laser Safety officer (also known as the "Laser Chief Engineer", best geek for most of my friends, and off to my next adventure - which I am sure will come out in a future post.
So, There you have it, as they say -
My first blog post,
Until the next time. Live adventurously, and be safe
(often refered to as "using common sense")
